Our Thoughts and Prayers Are With The Family and friends of Corporal Nathan Townsend 289^th MP Company, 4/3 Infantry, 3^rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard).  Corporal Townsend Lost His Life Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th, 2008 In A tragic Motorcycle Accident on The George Washington Parkway in the D.C. Metro Area.

 Corporal Townsend Was A Member of Post 177, Our Sponsoring  American Legion Post, Although Not A Northern Virginia legion rider Chapter Member.

Townsend is survived by his wife, Erica, of Alexandria, Va., his father, Steven, of Minor Hill, TN, and his mother, Evelyn Helms, of Rogersville, Ala
